Speaking to Hospital Administrators at Saddleback

Hello All,
We were invited to speak to 150 hospital administrators at Saddleback Memorial. We were thrilled to be able to tell our story. It was a very moving experience for us. At the end of our speech, we received a standing ovation. It was a treat to thank all of those wonderful people and to sign our books for them. If we were able to encourage these health care professionals to realize how important their work is, then we were a success!

The Article in the Register

The article in the register came out this weekend. We are so fortunate to be able to reach out to others. We have been contacted by caregivers of stroke survivors. We can relate of course to what they are going through. It isn't an easy path! We had our first book signing last week. It was very moving and emotional. The response was just wonderful. We hope to have more book signings in the future. We hope that we can truly help people. We will be keeping this blog updated since this article and others have come out.

Off to the Printer!

Hello All,
The layout and the editing is finally done. The book is now with the printer!
In about three days we will receive the proof. We look it over and send it back and then the book is printed. The books will be shipped two weeks after that. A week before the shipping date will be a good time to order a book. Looking over the files for the book, I relived so many of those difficult first days after Brian's stroke. I still can't believe the miracle we have experienced. I hope the book will touch you as much as it has touched us, and we wrote it!

We Have Our Cover!

The book is moving along beautifully. We now have our cover and the layout will be finished by Wednesday. We have been working very carefully with our layout artist. There is so much to know. I have learned so much on how to publish a book. The writing is starting to look like the easy part. Many of you have been asking where you can buy the book. I will be working on creating a website this week and will be speaking with Amazon as well. So there will be two options. I am receiving bids from printers today. Thank you all for your support.
Brian and I are very excited!

Editing the book

Hello All,
The book has been edited. It is now in the layout stage! The manuscript is currently with Dr. Lynn one of Brian's doctors. He is going to write on the back of the book. We went to a Stroke Awareness Picnic and Brian spoke to the crowd. He was amazing; everyone cried! The layout and cover should be done in one week. We will put the cover on the blog. We are hoping to have the books in hand on June 15th.
It is very exciting!

Navigating Through the Fog

Welcome to our blog! Brian and I have written a book call Navigating Through the Fog: The Story of a Stroke Survivor and the Woman who Loves Him
On August 5, 2009 Brian had a severe hemorrhagic stroke to the basal ganglia part of his brain. As many of you know, the first night and the days that followed were harrowing. Brian went through months of therapy. Seven months after the stroke, Brian returned to work. This is a story of survival and perseverance. It is also a love story! Our goal is to help the caregivers and stroke survivors. We hope that they can learn from our story. The book will be available on Amazon mid-June. The blog will keep you up to date with the progress. Today it is with an editor.
